On Tuesday, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the date sheet for the upcoming class 10 and 12 board exams, slated to begin on February 15. The exams for class 10 will conclude on March 13, while class 12 exams are scheduled to end on April 2.
Announcement by Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj:
Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj announced that the class 10 board exams will occur from February 15 to March 13, and the class 12 exams will run from February 15 to April 2, 2024.
Consideration of Competitive Exam Dates:
In the date sheet preparation, the board took into account the need for adequate gaps between subjects. Sanyam Bhardwaj emphasized that the schedule for class 12 considered competitive exam dates, such as JEE, to avoid conflicts. The board ensured that no two subject exams overlapped, considering over 40,000 subject combinations.
Subject-wise Schedule for First Day:
On the initial day of exams, class 10 will cover subjects like Painting, Rai, Gurung, Tamang, and Sherpa. Class 12 will include exams for Entrepreneurship, Kokborok, Capital Market Operation, and Physical Activity Trainer.
Exam Timing and Important Dates for Class 10:
All exams will commence at 10:30 am. Key dates for class 10 exams include Sanskrit on February 19, Hindi on February 21, English on February 26, Science on March 2, Home Science on March 4, Social Science on March 7, Mathematics on March 11, and Information Technology on March 13.

Important Note on Evaluation:
According to the Examination Bye-Laws, CBSE stated that it would not award divisions, distinctions, or aggregate marks for class 10 and 12 board exams. The official release states, “No overall division/distinction/aggregate shall be awarded.”
